Description

Enhance your holiday feast with our delicious blueberry cranberry sauce A perfect blend for a festive twist Ideal for gatherings and celebrations

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Chopped nuts (optional)
  • Zest of an orange (optional)

  • Instructions

  • Start by rinsing the fresh cranberries and blueberries under cold water. Remove any soft or damaged berries.
  • In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the cranberries, blueberries, and water over medium heat. Stir occasionally.
  • As the mixture heats, add the sugar and lemon juice. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer. You’ll notice the cranberries beginning to pop—this is a good sign!
  • Simmer for about 10-15 minutes or until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency. If you like a chunkier texture, reduce cooking time.
  • If you opted for cinnamon or any optional ingredients, stir them in during the last few minutes of cooking.
  • Once done, remove from heat and let the sauce cool. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
