Description
Craft tasty Blueberry Lemon Jam with this easy recipe. Perfect for spreading on toast or adding to desserts. Make your treats memorable!
Ingredients
Scale
4 cups of fresh blueberries
1 cup of granulated sugar
1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon of lemon zest
1 packet (1.75 oz) of pectin
Optional: Pinch of salt
Optional: A sprig of fresh mint
Special: A slice of lemon or whole blueberries for garnishing
Instructions
Rinse your blueberries under cold water, gently pat them dry, and remove any stems. Set aside 1 cup of whole berries.
In a large pot, combine the mashed blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir well and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
Place the pot over medium heat and stir occasionally until it comes to a gentle boil.
When the jam is bubbling, sprinkle pectin over the mixture while stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
To check if the jam is ready, drop a spoonful on a cold plate and tilt it. If it holds its shape, it's ready.
Ladle hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving about 1/4 inch of headspace. Wipe rims for a good seal.
Attach lids and let the jam cool at room temperature; you'll hear the jars seal.
Notes
This blueberry lemon jam captures the essence of summer with a delightful balance of sweet blueberries and tangy lemons, ideal for elevating breakfasts and desserts.
