2–3 pounds of brisket
1 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of black pepper
2 teaspoons of garlic powder
2 teaspoons of onion powder
1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
1 cup of beef broth
1/2 cup of barbecue sauce (optional)
6–8 slices of your favorite sandwich bread
Pickles, coleslaw, or any toppings you love
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Season the brisket generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned.
Transfer the brisket to a roasting pan or slow cooker. Pour beef broth over the brisket and cover tightly. Roast for 3-4 hours or slow cook for 8-10 hours until fork-tender.
Let the brisket rest for 15 minutes, then shred it into bite-sized pieces.
Toast your bread slices if desired. Layer shredded brisket onto one slice of bread, adding toppings, and top with another slice.
