In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth using a fork or a potato masher.
Add the brown sugar, milk, melted butter, and egg to the mashed bananas. Mix until combined and smooth.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter.
Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook the other side until golden brown, about another 1-2 minutes.
Stack the pancakes on a plate, and serve with your choice of garnishes.
