  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 onion, chopped

  • Instructions

  • In a pot, bring the 4 cups of water to a boil and season with salt. Whisk in the grits. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently for about 15-20 minutes, until thick and creamy.
  • Stir in butter and shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted into the grits.
  • While the grits cook, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper, sauté for about 3-4 minutes until tender. Add garlic for the last minute.
  • Add shrimp to the skillet, sprinkle Cajun seasoning over, and sauté until they’re pink and opaque—about 3-5 minutes.
  • Pour in chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes until it thickens slightly.
