Ingredients

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (50g) chopped nuts (optional)
  • Salted caramel sauce (optional)

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Mix the cocoa powder, flour, and salt into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Pour about half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Smooth it out with a spatula.
  • Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the brownie batter. Swirl it gently with a knife.
  • Pour the remaining brownie batter over the caramel layer and top with the remaining caramel sauce. Swirl again.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness using a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool before lifting them out using the parchment paper. Cut into squares and serve.
