Ingredients

  • 1 (1.5 to 2-pound) salmon fillet, skin-on
  • 1 cedar plank (soaked in water for at least 1 hour)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (like dill or parsley)

  • Instructions

  • Soak your cedar plank in water for at least one hour.
  • Mix together the marinade: olive oil, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Place salmon fillet in a shallow dish and pour marinade over it. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the fridge.
  • Preheat your grill to medium heat (around 350°F or 175°C).
  • Remove the cedar plank from the water, pat it dry, and place the salmon, skin-side down, on the plank. Optionally sprinkle fresh herbs on top.
  • Place the cedar plank with the salmon on the grill and close the lid. Cook for approximately 15-20 minutes.
  • Remove the cedar plank from the grill, transfer the salmon to a serving dish, garnish with fresh herbs, and serve immediately.
