Ingredients
Scale
1 can of tuna (5 oz)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 slices of bread
Butter for grilling
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped onion, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. This will create a wonderfully crispy exterior.
Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in a skillet over medium heat.
Spoon the cheesy tuna mixture generously onto the bread in the skillet. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side until it’s also golden and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.
Remove from the skillet and let it cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy your Cheesy Tuna Melt while it’s hot!
