Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef (flank steak or sirloin)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1-inch ginger (grated)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: red bell pepper, green onions, sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Marinate the Beef: Thinly slice the beef against the grain. In a bowl, combine it with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
  • Prep Your Veggies: Wash the broccoli and cut it into florets. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
  • Heat the Pan: In a large wok or non-stick skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the hot pan in a single layer. Let it cook for about 2-3 minutes without stirring. Once browned, stir-fry until cooked through, then set aside.
  • Stir-Fry the Broccoli: In the same pan, add the broccoli and a couple of tablespoons of water. Cover for a minute, then uncover and add in the garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for another couple of minutes.
  • Combine: Return the beef to the pan, mix everything together, and let it simmer for 1-2 more minutes.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Serve hot over a bed of steamed rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions.
