Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 6 cups stale bread (or cubed croissants)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage until it’s no longer pink and crumbled. Let it cool for a moment, then drain any excess grease.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk, then season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine your bread cubes, cooked sausage, and half of your cheese. Pour the egg mixture over all of this and gently mix until everything is nicely coated.
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish, pour your mixture in, and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Bake uncovered for about 45-50 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  • Once it comes out of the oven, let it rest for about 10 minutes.
  • Cut into squares and top with any garnishes of your choice.
