Indulge in irresistible cranberry tartlets filled with a sweet tart mix perfect delightful bites for any occasion Taste the bliss in every bite

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 large egg
  • Pinch of salt

  • Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the unsalted butter, and using a pastry cutter or your fingers, mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Gradually add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough holds together. Shape the dough into a disc, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine fresh cranberries, brown sugar, cornstarch, and orange zest. Stir consistently until the mixture begins to bubble. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the cranberries soften and the mixture thickens.
  • While the cranberries cool, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut out circles and place them into a greased muffin pan, pressing the dough into the bottom and sides.
  • Spoon the cranberry filling into each crust, filling them about ¾ full.
  • Place the tartlets in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crusts are golden brown.
  • Once baked, remove the tartlets from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar and add any desired garnishes.
