Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup grated Asiago cheese
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh herbs (optional)
Sautéed mushrooms (optional)
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Additional grated Asiago for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and pepper.
In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, pour in the heavy cream and stir in the dried thyme. Bring it to a simmer.
Gradually stir in the Asiago cheese until melted and well-combined. Season with more salt and pepper to taste.
Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
Remove from the oven, garnish with freshly chopped parsley, and serve warm. Enjoy with pasta or crusty bread!
