  • 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, spinach or kale, mushrooms, ricotta cheese
  • Special Garnishes: shredded mozzarella cheese, fresh basil or parsley, grated Parmesan cheese

  • Instructions

  • Sauté the Aromatics: In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and continue to cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Brown the Meat: Add the ground beef or turkey, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Add the Tomatoes and Broth: Pour in the crushed tomatoes and chicken broth, stirring well to combine. Bring this mixture to a gentle boil.
  • Add Noodles: Once boiling, add the broken lasagna noodles. Stir to incorporate, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the noodles are tender.
  • Stir in the Cream Cheese: Add the cream cheese to the pot, stirring until completely melted and incorporated, creating a creamy texture.
  • Season to Taste: Mix in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning as desired.
