1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb Italian sausage
1/2 lb pepperoni
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
1 prepared pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until browned. Break it apart with a spatula as it cooks to ensure even browning.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
Stir in the diced tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Allow the mixture to simmer on low for about 10 minutes.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in one cup of shredded cheese until melted and well combined.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Roll out your pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie plate.
Fill the crust with the meat and cheese mixture, spreading it evenly.
Top with the remaining shredded cheese, ensuring the filling is fully covered.
Fold the overhanging crust over the top of the pie and crimp the edges to seal.
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil or a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
