Ingredients

  • 1 lb of ground beef
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds, to taste
  • Optional: Sliced bell peppers
  • Optional: Sliced onions
  • Optional: Rice vinegar

  • Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix until sugar is mostly dissolved. Add ground beef, cover, and let marinate for 15 minutes.
  • Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Once hot, add marinated ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  • If adding, toss in sliced onions or bell peppers once beef is nearly done, cooking until tender.
  • Remove from heat, stir in chopped green onions, and serve hot garnished with sesame seeds and choice of rice or lettuce wraps.
