Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 8–10 fresh figs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup shelled pistachios
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
- Spices (optional)
- Chocolate (optional)
- Other nuts (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
- Edible flowers (for garnish)
- Extra honey drizzle (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pie Crust: If you’re using a store-bought crust, follow the package instructions for blind baking. If making your own, roll out the dough, fit it into a tart pan, and pre-bake according to your recipe until golden and crisp.
- Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, combine the honey, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Mix well. Slice the fresh figs into quarters and add them to the mixture, gently coating the figs.
- Assemble the Tart: Once the crust has cooled, pour the fig mixture into the crust, spreading the figs evenly. Sprinkle the shelled pistachios over the top.
- Bake the Tart: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the figs are soft and the pistachios are lightly toasted.
- Cool and Garnish: Allow the tart to cool completely before removing it from the pan. Top with fresh mint leaves or edible flowers before serving.
- Serve: Slice and serve your tantalizing tart with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
