  • 1 lb. ribeye or flank steak
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: Lemon zest
  • Optional: Chimichurri sauce
  • Special Garnishes: Fresh parsley or cilantro, Lemon wedges

  • Instructions

  • Take your steak out of the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat it dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and let it get hot.
  • Place the steak in the hot skillet and sear without moving it for about 4-5 minutes. Flip and sear the other side for another 4-5 minutes.
  • In the last couple of minutes of cooking, add butter and minced garlic to the pan and baste the steak with the melting garlic butter.
  • Check the internal temperature for medium-rare, about 130°F (54°C). Once done, remove from heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • Slice the steak against the grain, drizzle with garlic butter from the pan, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
