1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 Fresh Orange, zested and juiced
1 cup Water

Instructions
Prep the Ingredients: Rinse your fresh cranberries under cold water, removing any that are soft or shriveled. Zest the orange using a microplane and then juice it, ensuring you strain out any seeds.
Cook the Cranberries: In a medium saucepan, combine the clean cranberries, water, sugar, and the orange juice. If you’re using a cinnamon stick, add it here too. Heat over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil. Stir occasionally.
Simmer: Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer. The cranberries will start to burst and release their juices, typically after about 10–15 minutes. Stir often and simmer until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency.
Add the Zest: Once thickened, stir in the orange zest and remove from heat. Discard the cinnamon stick if you used one.
Cool: Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature before transferring it to a serving dish or storing it.
