  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sliced almonds
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, then let it cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, honey, eggs, and milk. Whisk until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Fold in half of the sliced almonds into the batter.
  • Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the reserved sliced almonds over the top.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
