2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups of granulated sugar
1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of milk
½ cup of vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
16 ounces of cream cheese, softened
2 cups of powdered sugar
Optional: a pinch of espresso powder
Optional: a splash of almond extract
Fresh berries for garnish
Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
In another bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Beat until creamy and smooth.
Pour half of the chocolate cake batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Dollop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the batter, then pour the remaining chocolate batter on top. Swirl a knife through to create a marbled effect.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
