  • 4 cups of cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup of vegetables (like shredded cabbage, carrots, or snap peas)
  • Tonkatsu sauce (to taste)
  • Optional: pickled ginger or soft-boiled egg

  • Instructions

  • Prep the pork by patting the cutlets dry and seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Set up an assembly line with flour, beaten egg, and panko breadcrumbs. Dredge each cutlet in flour, dip in egg, and coat with panko.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the breaded cutlets for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Prepare the rice according to package instructions while the katsu is frying.
  • Chop up the vegetables for assembly.
