  • 1 cup of fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 large rice paper wrappers
  • Optional Vegetables: Thinly sliced bell peppers, carrots, or cucumbers
  • Optional Spice: Chili paste to taste
  • Special Garnishes: Peanut sauce and fresh lime wedges

  • Instructions

  • Gather your ingredients, wash your veggies, and chop them up for easier preparation.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook while breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. When halfway done, add in minced garlic.
  • Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper to the beef once fully cooked. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes.
  • Add fresh basil leaves right before removing from heat and stir until wilted slightly.
  • Fill a shallow dish with warm water. Soak rice paper one at a time for about 15 seconds until soft.
  • Lay the soaked rice paper on a clean surface. Add a spoonful of beef mixture, fold the sides, and roll tightly.
  • Continue rolling until all beef mixture and rice papers are used. Place them on a platter ready for dipping.
