  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: 1/2 cup walnuts or chocolate chips

  • Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
  • Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and stir.
  • Mix in the baking soda and salt.

  • Gently fold in the flour until just combined.
  • If adding nuts or chocolate chips, fold them in now.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 60-65 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
