  • Instructions

  • Prepare the pie crust according to package instructions or your homemade recipe. Cool before filling.
  • In a medium saucepan, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add whole milk while stirring. Cook until thickened and bubbling, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Whisk the egg yolks in a separate bowl. Gradually add a small amount of the hot milk mixture to the egg yolks, whisking constantly to avoid cooking the eggs. Combine with the milk mixture in the saucepan.
  • Cook for another minute until thickened further. Stir in vanilla extract and let cool slightly.
