Ingredients
Scale
1 lb Ground Beef
1 cup Orzo Pasta
3 cups Beef Broth
1 Onion, diced
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1/4 cup Ketchup
1 tablespoon Mustard
1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into smaller pieces with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
Add Aromatics: Stir in the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
Incorporate the Orzo: Add the orzo pasta to the skillet, mixing it thoroughly with the beef and aromatics, letting it toast slightly for 1-2 minutes.
Add Broth and Sauces: Pour in the beef broth, then add ketchup and mustard. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.
Cook the Orzo: Cover the skillet and let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed. Stir occasionally.
Melt the Cheese: Once the orzo is cooked, remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the shredded cheese until it melts into a creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve: Spoon the orzo onto plates, garnish with your choice of toppings, and enjoy!
