1 large head of green cabbage
4 tablespoons olive oil
4–6 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Fresh herbs such as parsley or thyme for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Start by removing the outer leaves of the cabbage. Cut the cabbage in half through the core, then lay each half flat and slice it into thick “steaks” about 1-inch thick.
In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and any additional spices you opted for. Stir until well combined.
Brush or drizzle the garlic oil mixture over both sides of the cabbage steaks. Make sure they’re well-coated.
Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
