1 teaspoon baking powder

½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup light brown sugar
1 cup canned pumpkin puree
½ cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
½ teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth and creamy.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
If using nuts or chocolate chips, gently fold them into the batter.
Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
In a small saucepan, melt ½ cup of butter over medium heat. Stir in 1 cup of brown sugar and ¼ cup of milk, bringing it to a boil. Remove from heat and whisk in 2 cups of powdered sugar until smooth.
Once the bars have cooled, pour the brown sugar frosting over the top and spread it evenly.
Cut into squares or rectangles, and serve with your favorite toppings!
