  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 box Red Velvet Cake Mix
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1 Large Egg (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (for cheesecake layer)

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine both sugars. Pour in the melted butter and mix until well combined.
  • Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the cake mix, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Add in the egg and vanilla, mixing until well combined.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Spread the cheesecake layer on top, followed by the remaining brownie batter. Swirl gently with a knife.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Slice into squares and serve.
