  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • Optional: Chopped pecans, walnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, white chocolate chips, sprinkles, powdered sugar

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then mix in the red food coloring and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add in the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding carefully.
  • Using a cookie scoop, drop the cookie dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are soft.
  • While they cool, whip up the cream cheese frosting by beating the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.
