Description

Savor the Delicious Red White Blue Marble Cake perfect for patriotic occasions Celebrate with this stunning dessert that dazzles and delights

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • Red and blue food coloring

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cake pans by greasing and flouring two 9-inch round pans.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt; set this aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  • One at a time, add the eggs, mixing well after each addition, then beat in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour mixture until just combined.
  • Separate the batter into three bowls: one for red, one for blue, and one that remains white.
  • Add red food coloring to one bowl and blue to another until you achieve your desired hue.
  • In each prepared cake pan, alternate dollops of the red, white, and blue batter. Use a knife to swirl them gently for a marbled effect.
  • Place the pans in the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  • Once completely cooled, stack the layers with your favorite frosting in between and spread a layer of frosting on top.
