  • 4 cups sourdough bread cubes
  • 1 large apple (diced)
  • 1 cup cranberries
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 celery stalks (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, crumble and brown the sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Add the chopped onion and celery to the same skillet. Cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the diced apple and cranberries, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the apples begin to soften slightly.
  • In a large bowl, add the sausage mixture to the bread cubes. Sprinkle in the fresh herbs, then pour in the broth. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Spoon the stuffing mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Cover with foil and bake for about 30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
