Ingredients

  • Lasagna noodles (12 pieces)
  • Live lobster (1 large or 2 small)
  • Shrimp (½ lb, peeled and deveined)
  • Ricotta cheese (15 oz)
  • Mozzarella cheese (2 cups shredded)
  • Parmesan cheese (1 cup grated)
  • Butter (4 tablespoons)
  • All-purpose flour (½ cup)
  • Whole milk (4 cups)
  • Garlic (3 cloves, minced)
  • Fresh basil (½ cup, chopped)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Spinach (2 cups, optional)
  • Crab meat (½ lb, optional)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Extra cheese (for garnish)

  • Instructions

  • Prepare the lobster: Boil the lobster in salted water for about 15-20 minutes until cooked. Once done, let it cool, then remove the meat and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  • Cook the shrimp: In a skillet, sauté the shrimp in a bit of olive oil and minced garlic over medium heat until they turn pink. Season with salt and pepper, then set aside.
  • Make the béchamel sauce: In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for a minute. Gradually pour in the milk, whisking constantly until it thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Mix the ricotta filling: In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, chopped basil, and half of the grated parmesan. Fold in the lobster and shrimp, and season to taste.
  • Assemble the lasagna: In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of béchamel on the bottom. Layer lasagna noodles over it, then spread half of the seafood mixture, followed by another layer of béchamel and a sprinkle of mozzarella. Repeat the layers and finish with noodles, béchamel, and the remaining mozzarella.
  • Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the lasagna for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  • Let it rest: Allow the lasagna to cool for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing. This helps it hold its shape.
