- 3–4 lbs Beef Chuck Roast
- 2 cups Beef Broth
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 large Onion, chopped
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 Carrots, sliced
- 2 stalks Celery, chopped
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Fresh Thyme or Parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from the beef chuck roast and season it generously with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the beef on all sides until browned. (Optional)
- Place the chopped onions, garlic, carrots, and celery in the bottom of the slow cooker. Lay the seared beef on top and pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 8 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours, until the beef is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
- Once cooked, remove the beef from the slow cooker, shred it using two forks, and return it to the pot to mix into the gravy.
- Toast slices of your favorite bread until golden brown.
