Ingredients

  • 34 lbs Beef Chuck Roast
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 Carrots, sliced
  • 2 stalks Celery, chopped
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Fresh Thyme or Parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Trim excess fat from the beef chuck roast and season it generously with salt and pepper.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the beef on all sides until browned. (Optional)
  • Place the chopped onions, garlic, carrots, and celery in the bottom of the slow cooker. Lay the seared beef on top and pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 8 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours, until the beef is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
  • Once cooked, remove the beef from the slow cooker, shred it using two forks, and return it to the pot to mix into the gravy.
  • Toast slices of your favorite bread until golden brown.
  • Spoon the beef mixture generously over the toasted bread and garnish with fresh herbs. Enjoy!
