Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe bananas
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- Optional: chopped nuts, chocolate chips, extra spices
- Garnishes: whipped cream, fresh mint leaves, vanilla ice cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, mash 4 ripe bananas well with a fork until they are mostly smooth, leaving a few small lumps for texture.
- Add 1 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter, and 1 tsp vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Whisk until the mixture is combined.
- In another bowl, mix together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp nutmeg.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with 1 cup of milk. Stir until just combined—don’t overmix!
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish (a 9×13 inch dish works great) and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cobbler to cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
