  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Orange juice
  • 1 tsp Orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Cloves
  • a pinch Salt
  • Optional: Pineapple chunks
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes
  • Optional: Chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Special Garnish: Fresh mint leaves
  • Special Garnish: A sprinkle of pomegranate seeds

  • Instructions

  • Rinse your fresh cranberries under cold water and remove any stems or blemished berries. Set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir occasionally until the mixture starts to boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and allow it to simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a serving dish or jar. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
