  • 2 cups of heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract (for whipped cream)

  • Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour batter into prepared pans and smooth tops. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Macerate strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar and let sit.
  • Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
