Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs Ground Beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian Sausage
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 medium Onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 2 tsp Italian Herbs
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Cheese for stuffing, shredded (Mozzarella or Provolone)
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce
  • Optional: Red Pepper Flakes, Mushrooms, Spinach
  • Special Garnishes: Fresh Basil or Parsley, Shaved Parmesan, Olive Oil drizzle

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly greased aluminum foil.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef and Italian sausage. Mix well until evenly combined.
  • Add breadcrumbs, eggs, minced garlic, diced onion, parsley, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Use your hands or a spoon to gently combine until just mixed.
  • Line a clean surface with plastic wrap. Place the meat mixture on the wrap and form it into a rectangle, about 1-inch thick.
  • Spread shredded cheese in the center of the rectangle, leaving an inch border all around.
  • Carefully roll the meat over the cheese, using the plastic wrap to guide you. Pinch the ends to seal the cheese inside.
  • Transfer the rolled meatloaf to the prepared baking dish, seam-side down.
  • Spread tomato sauce over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake for about 60-75 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
