Ingredients
Scale
8 oz linguine pasta
1 lb flank steak
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper
Instructions
Cook the pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the linguine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
Marinate the steak: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes. Add the flank steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Cook the steak: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess sauce to drip off. Season with salt and pepper. Sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest.
Create the sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining marinade and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until slightly thickened.
Toss it all together: Slice the rested steak into thin strips. Add the cooked linguine to the skillet with the sauce, tossing to combine. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed.
Serve: Plate the pasta, top with sliced steak, and garnish with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese.
