Description

Experience flavor explosion with our irresistible Sweet Chili Pineapple Sauce perfect for dipping grilling or enhancing your favorite dishes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions (for garnish)

  • Instructions

  • Begin by finely chopping your pineapple, ensuring to remove the core and tough skin. You want small pieces that will blend beautifully into the sauce.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped pineapple, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely.
  • Once the mixture starts to simmer, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld together, thickening the sauce slightly.
  • After thickening, remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool for a few minutes. You can adjust the seasoning at this point, adding more chili sauce if you want more heat or more sugar if you prefer it sweeter.
  • Once you’ve reached your desired flavor, transfer the sauce to a jar or airtight container. Refrigerate it for at least an hour to let the flavors develop further!
  • Before serving, give the sauce a good stir and garnish with chopped green onions or other desired garnishes.
