Ingredients
Scale
4 salmon fillets (skin-on preferred)
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon minced ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
Sesame seeds for garnish
Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
In a small saucepan, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced ginger, and garlic over medium heat. Allow it to come to a gentle simmer, stirring often until the sugar dissolves.
If you like your glaze a little thicker, mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of water until smooth and add it to the sauce. Stir continuously until the sauce coats the back of a spoon.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel.
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add a little oil to prevent sticking. Place the fillets skin-side down and cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip, and pour most of the teriyaki sauce over the fillets. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
Transfer the salmon to plates, drizzle with remaining sauce, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
