Once the sugar dissolves, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Add the cranberries to the saucepan, ensuring they are fully submerged in the syrup. Let them soak for about 15-20 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 200°F (or about 90°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Using a slotted spoon, remove the cranberries from the syrup and place them on the lined baking sheet, ensuring they do not touch.
Sprinkle the cranberries generously with granulated sugar.
Pop the baking sheet in the oven for about 30 minutes. Let the cranberries cool completely on the sheet.
