  • Instructions

  • Rinse sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine rice and water in a pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 20 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Sprinkle in salt to the warm rice and mix gently. Let cool slightly until warm but manageable.
  • Wet hands with water, grab a handful of rice, and shape into a ball, adding filling if desired.
  • Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat, brush with oil, and grill the rice balls for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Brush with soy sauce while grilling.
  • Serve garnished with chopped herbs or sesame seeds and with soy sauce on the side.
