Description

A delightful twist on the classic Girl Scout Samoa cookie, these Samoa Apple Slices offer a refreshing and indulgent treat perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized apples (preferably Granny Smith or Fuji)
  • 1 cup shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Wash and dry apples, then slice them into 1/4 inch thick rounds, removing the seeds.
  2. Spread the shredded coconut on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  3. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave or a double boiler until smooth.
  4. Dip each apple slice halfway into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off, and place on a wax paper-lined baking sheet.
  5. Drizzle caramel over the chocolate-coated apple slices, followed by a sprinkle of toasted coconut and a pinch of sea salt.
  6. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes to set before serving.

Notes

For variations, consider adding nuts or cinnamon for extra flavor. These apple slices are best enjoyed fresh after assembly.
