Ingredients
Scale
12 oz ziti pasta
1 lb ground turkey
2 cups marinara sauce
1 cup ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the ziti until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, add a drizzle of olive oil and heat over medium. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Then add the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and dried oregano.
Pour in the marinara sauce, mixing well to coat the turkey. Let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
In a big mixing bowl, combine the drained ziti, meat sauce, and ricotta cheese. Stir until well mixed.
In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the ziti mixture. Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan. Top with the remaining ziti mixture and pile on the rest of the cheese.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
Once baked, let it sit for about 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil.
