- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Melt the 1/2 cup of butter with the brown sugar and bourbon in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan and arrange the peach slices on top.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy, then beat in the eggs and vanilla.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk.
- Spoon the batter over the peaches in the pan and spread gently.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving platter.
