Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for cooking
- 2 cups popped popcorn
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- Optional: Chopped herbs (chives or parsley)
- Optional: Diced vegetables (bell peppers or spinach)
- Optional: A pinch of paprika or cayenne
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Separate egg whites from yolks, whisk yolks with milk, salt, and pepper until smooth. Whip egg whites until stiff peaks form, about 3-5 minutes.
- Fold the whipped egg whites into the yolk mixture. Gently incorporate cheddar cheese. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, pour in egg mixture, and cook for about 2 minutes until edges set.
- Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes until fluffy and golden brown. Meanwhile, drizzle maple syrup over popcorn, tossing to coat. Serve the omelette topped with the maple-coated popcorn immediately.
Notes
Feel free to customize the omelette with different cheeses, herbs, or vegetables. For a vegan version, use a chickpea flour mixture instead of eggs.
