2 cups of fresh cherries, pitted and halved
1/4 cup of granulated sugar
1 tablespoon of cornstarch
1 teaspoon of almond extract
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
1 egg (for egg wash)
A pinch of salt

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, toss together your pitted cherries, sugar, cornstarch, almond extract, lemon juice, and salt. Let this sit for about 10 minutes.
