Ingredients
Scale
1 pound of ground beef (80/20)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
4 small slider buns
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons of butter
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Sliced pickles (optional)
Mustard or ketchup (optional)
Guacamole or salsa (optional)
Fresh lettuce (for garnish)
Sliced tomatoes (for garnish)
Fresh herbs like basil or cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Stir them occasionally, letting them cook for about 15–20 minutes until they turn a glorious golden brown.
In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into small patties about 1 inch thick.
In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high and add the patties. Cook for about 4 minutes on one side until a good sear develops, then flip them over.
Top each patty with a generous sprinkle of shredded cheddar. Cover the skillet with a lid for a minute or two, allowing the cheese to melt beautifully.
Toast the slider buns in the oven or a separate skillet until golden brown.
Place the bottom half of each toasted bun on a plate, add some lettuce, a cheesy patty, a spoonful of caramelized onions, and any optional toppings, then crown with the top bun.
