- 3–4 whole star anise
- 2–3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon of whole cloves
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- Optional: 1/4 cup of brandy or rum
Instructions
- Start by gathering all your ingredients. Pour the apple cider into the crockpot, filling it about three-quarters full.
- Combine the apple cider, sliced orange, star anise, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and brown sugar in your crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for about 240-360 minutes, or on high for about 120-180 minutes.
- Once your cider is ready, taste it and adjust the sweetness or spices if needed.
- Serve the warm cider in festive mugs, allowing the spices and orange slices to float atop.
