Description
A flavorful dish where roasted cabbage is infused with garlic, topped with a crispy Parmesan crust, making it perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium head of green cabbage
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse the cabbage and remove any wilted outer leaves. Slice the cabbage into thick “steaks,” about ¾ inch thick, keeping the core intact. Drizzle a baking sheet with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Brush the mixture generously over both sides of the cabbage steaks. Arrange on the baking sheet and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Roast the cabbage steaks for about 25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using balsamic vinegar, red pepper flakes, or fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
